There is not a girl in this world that does not desire to be beautiful! I have never met a single woman or young girl that says “I hope boys tell me I hit every branch on the ugly tree!” You laugh but seriously! How many women do you know that complain about those extra five pounds or their nose being too large or their gorilla arms (ok maybe that is just me!)? Every woman wants to be considered beautiful! They want a man to notice them. To pick them out of a crowd and CHOOSE THEM! Not for a night but for a lifetime! I read a great article yesterday (http://www.ncregister.com/blog/the-death-of-pretty), read it! Even if you are a macho guy…read it! I mean you are reading this for heaven’s sake! All I could think about as I read this article is that we as women are FOR SALE! We have lost our true “innocence” and beauty for the sake of being “hot”, of being noticed! We walk out of our house with our for sale sign hanging on our backs. Our eyes roaming, wondering who might buy us and give us worth! We feel a sense of pride when a guy notices us…for all the WRONG reasons! Then we wonder why he breaks our heart? Maybe it’s because he saw us as nothing more than a way to meet a need? OUCH!What we are seeking is love, yet that is impossible without God! "God is love"...apart from Him it is just lust. We want someone to identify us as enough…as beautiful and worthy enough to be chosen. Therefore we degrade ourselves to a woman that is only seen by what is eventually going to sag and wrinkle.
Do we understand that we could be the most beautiful woman in the world and still get rejected! My heart aches for Kim Kardashian. Her rejection was public and it was painful! She sold herself to the highest bidder that never truly loved her and in the end she left him because the lust was not good enough to keep her. She is so beautiful, at times I have envied her and wished for her life. Yet, she is struggling with the rejection that I fear. When are we going to understand that we have been CHOSEN?! In fact, we were chosen before the foundation of the world by a God that spent time creating us. He sent us into the world to live as a beautiful creation of His…the beauty coming not from a figure that you have almost killed yourself for, but from the beauty that comes from the King (Proverbs 31, 1 Peter 3)! We can no longer be for sale if we have been BOUGHT WITH A PRICE! The Bible says it perfectly in 1 Corinthians 6:20"You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” The price was the highest it could have possibly been…this price has defined worth! Why do we sell what has already been bought for the sake of someone that does not understand what its worth? We must understand that true beauty lies in the heart of a woman that seeks the Lord. This woman understands her worth and is waiting for a man that does not try to buy her and then return her, for he knows she has already been bought. With Jesus there is no return policy! Instead he cherishes her for a lifetime!
